Thursday 18th August - Stripped at The Wellington Inn
The finest acoustic tunes from the North's best bands and solo artists every first and third Thursday of the month.
Fresh from its first successful year at Baby Jupiter in Leeds, Stripped launches onto the Hull
music scene at The Wellington Inn.
This unique acoustic night showcases the North's finest talent, playing host to quality,
original artists of varying styles in one of Hull's most individual bars.
Each night features three to four bands, with each band playing two sets, with four or five songs in each.
Stripped hopes to give a forum to those artists with real talent, often ignored by mainstream, established venues. Strong ties with the well-established night in Leeds will also bring over many artists who would not otherwise be heard by Hull audiences.
The Wellington Inn is proud to be the home of Hull Stripped, and offers
hundreds of beers and ales from across the globe. Variety is the essence of the venue
and a quintessential part of the Stripped concept.
Thursday 18th August - 8pm

Coming Up, Exhibitions - Alistair McClymont Residency at Hull Art Lab, 25th July - 21st August
Alistair McClymont makes sculpture (amongst other things) drawn from direct
experience and the seemingly ordinary.
However, such experience is made extraordinary.
For example, in After the Rain a mass of heated tarmac was irrigated with water
to produce that urban after-the-rain smell.

Music Reviews - Saturday 18th June 05 - Yeti and White Rose Movement at Sweet n Sour at The Silhouette By JG Photos by Mo
Tonight, Yeti's support came from London based White Rose Movement.
As soon as the band dived into their first song, I really thought that I was going to love them.
In fact, every one of the songs on their set started off sounding very promising;
fantastic intros that grab your attention and prepare you for a song full of energy and catchy hooks.
However, when the vocals

Music Reviews - Saturday 16th July 05 - Doing Hull a Favour - Silhouette Club By Joe Hakim
So I'm walking down Beverley Road, and as I'm walking this car stops at the lights and a guy hangs it head out of the window and shouts across to me, "Ey, mate...yeah you!"
I try to ignore him, but seeing as I'm the only person on the street, there's no doubt in my mind that he's talking to me. Shit... "I think yer've dropped summat, mate," he yells.
