Exhibitions - 27th April - 31st May - The Marfleet Collection - Docker's Tools and Photographs at the Hull Maritime Museum

This Wednesday sees the launch of a unique exhibition of docker's tools and photographs, collected over the years by Mr Walter Oglesby. 82 year old Walter, who is currently gracing the cover of Hull In Print, is a retired local men's hairdresser who was both barber and confidante to the men who worked on Hull's docks. When he realised that the docker's trade was diminishing he decided to start collecting the tools of their trade so they wouldn't be forgotten. Walter's story has now been recorded on audio CD by local researcher Andy Richardson. Short Back and Sides - the Life and Times of Walter Oglesby will be available from the Maritime Museum shop and City Information, Central Library, priced £10.
