Monday 6th June - Youth Volunteer Awards.
|
One of the highlights of National Volunteers Week is to recognise and reward volunteers for
the excellent contribution they make to the community and voluntary sector.
On Monday 6th June Hull CVS Volunteer Centre is hosting a Youth Volunteer Awards Evening
to recognise the contribution that young people have made to the community in Hull
through volunteering. Awards for 100 and 200 hours of volunteering time will be
presented to Millennium Volunteers as well as participants on The Challenge programme
who committed to full time volunteering for up to 9 months.
|
|
|
Says Chris Scott (MV Coordinator at the Volunteer Centre); This youth volunteer awards
event is an excellent opportunity for young volunteers to meet up and celebrate their achievements.
Events like these are also a timely showcase for the often unsung contribution young
people make to their communities.
Young people all over Hull are volunteering their time to make their communities a better place,
develop their own skills and have a great time.
|
The night will also feature live music from a band from The Warren Young People's Resource Centre
and a performance by two young people who have been working with the Northern Theatre.

Ringside with Break Even and Soulflame, I'm sad to say is when I saw them last.
The days of playing a twenty song set in ten minutes are behind them, okay slight
