Wednesday 23rd November - Bands are Back at King Billy, Hull with Bad Magic Sunday 27th November - The Jailhouse, Lincoln with Bad Magic Wednesday 14th December - The Ringside, Hull with Break Even Thursday 22nd December - The Pleasure Unit, London - For tickets (and late xmas shopping in London!) email pj_prethero@hotmail.com. Being judged on one song (their own, She's a Woman), The Rise came 1st out of a group of 14 to win heat 4 of the Rock Academy at Lincoln with one of the judges declaring he's quitting and never judging again if The Rise don't win. 6 weeks earlier the same song was played at the KC Stadium about 10 minutes before R.E.M took to the stage... The regional final of the Academy is on 26th October at Chicago Rock in Barnsley, with the grand final the following week. The prize is a £55,000 tour of the U.K and a day in a top studio (might be able to get the drum and bass tracks done!)
