Pitiful Reign Band Dates - Withernsea Band Making Waves!
|
A local Heavy Metal band with an average age of 17 have been making waves,
and not only in their home town of Withernsea.
Though only together with this line up for a few short months, Pitiful Reign
have managed to land themselves a slot on a Major UK tour.
Pitiful Reign formed when most of its original members were pupils at Withernsea High school.
Founder members Josh Callis-Smith 17, and Tom Small 16, recruited Matt Walker,
(16) from Burton Pidsea and the band played several gigs in and around
the local area and built themselves quite a local following.
In the summer of 2004, the band completed its line-up when Tom Britton, 18,
joined PR as lead guitarist.
|
|
The Executioner Calls for Silence tour, organised by Power Metal UK and
Killin Time Records covers the whole of the UK, and is headlined by
Italian Thrash Metal giants Deliverance and UK prog metal band Humanity.
Pitiful Reign are appearing on the Hull leg of the tour, which is taking
place at The Ringside, Beverley Road on May 14th 2005.
Also on the bill for that evening will be Bloodstock favourites and local
Hull band Infobia, who have a national following, with their latest
video being shown on Scuzz TV and Hull rock band SoulFlame.
|
|
Tickets are priced at £5.00 and are available through the band or via Power Metal UK.
When asked about their appearance on the tour, Josh Callis-Smith, the band
spokesman and lead singer said, We were delighted when PMUK approached us
and asked us to play this gig.
It will definitely raise the band's profile, not only in the Hull area,
but hopefully nationally as well.
The band is hopeful that as a result of the exposure that this gig will
give them, they will sign a recording contract with one of the record
companies attending the shows.
|
|
Glyn Beasley, member of the Management team at Power Metal UK said We had no
hesitation in booking Pitiful Reign for this show.
They are one of the finest young thrash metal bands to come out of East Yorkshire
in a long time. They will go a long way.
Anyone wishing to catch Pitiful Reign before this show will be able to
see them when they play a warm - up gig in their home town of Withernsea
on the 6th May at the Victoria Tavern, Queen Street, once again alongside
Infobia and another Italian metal band Warchild.
