Welly Club Exclusive! Tim Westwood at UrbanTakeova - 25th March 04

Tim Westwood has been confirmed to headline UrbanTakeova 1st Birthday Party. On Thursady 25th March, UrbanTakeova will stage Hull's biggest ever Hip Hop night, with Tim Westwood headlining the gig.

UrbanTakeova is celebrating its 1st anniversary! The night has gone from strength to strength in the last year. To celebrate in style, the night will feature the cream of r'n'b and hip hop talents. This event is one not to be missed and is guaranteed to be sold out. The tickets are priced at £10 + BF and £15 +BF for VIP.

Tim Westwood

The Radio 1 Rap Show broadcasts nationally on BBC Radio 1 97-99FM on Fridays 11pm - 2am and Saturdays 9pm - 12am to over one million listeners every week. Tim Westwood is regarded as the most influential figure in hip hop in Europe and as a pioneer of the UK scene.

He began as a DJ on pirate radio, LWR, and then as one of the co-owners of Kiss FM during the station's pirate years. After presenting the Rap Show on Capital FM for seven years, he joined Radio 1 in December 1994.

Westwood has also hosted his own television show on ITV's Night Network and has presented and co-produced several music documentaries. In August 2000 Westwood hosted and co-produced a series for UK Play called Westwood Presents featuring Dr Dre, LL CoolJ, Busta Rhymes, Funkmaster Flex and many more. 2001 saw the first release of Westwood The Album, Vol 1. The album sold over 100,000 copies.
