Coming Up - Christmas with Crack Town The Lamp 17 Dec.

The salivating two-headed Rock Beast that is Crack town with be jingling their Christmas bells at the Lamp on Wednesday the 17th of December, when they present their 1st Xmas extravaganza 'A Crack Town Carol'.
For those not in the loop, Crack town are the hottest two-piece band on the Hull Gig Circuit at moment, and their unique brand of Acid Blues Folk has moistened the britches of many a music loving punter.

Young local artist Jason Karlson has organised a brand new n event to give local live artistes a chance to perform in public. The first of his Sunday evening 'open mic' type gatherings will be 14th December.
I asked Jason about the event and he said, Basically the gig is to try and promote more new music and creativity in Hull by giving people a stage on which to present thier material for free. Each week there will also be a headline band or act for people to watch featuring an up and coming artist!

He'd seen thisisUll.com on line, read some of the reviews and strangely enough, his band, Freebase will be playing the Adelphi in Hull on 28th January.
So I did a bit of research to get a preview of what to expect, what kind of music they play and who they are.

Coming Up - Heavier Than Air The Ferens Art Gallery 15 November 2003 to 11 January 2004

The Ferens Art Gallery is delighted to host a new exhibition Heavier Than Air, by Glasgow artist Tom McKendrick.
Heavier Than Air is a dramatic installation piece that mixes kinetic sculpture, painting, light and sound to strong atmospheric effect. It focuses on the design and purpose of aircraft in times of war and peace and explores emotions associated with flight.

Coming Up - The DEEP turns into a nightclub

Yorkshire and Hull based company Ifgraduates (www.ifgraduates.com) will be holding their third and largest event yet. This marks the start of a new style of nightclubbing, which is not confined by the constraints of traditional clubs but instead makes use of the city's 'icon' buildings in ways previously not envisioned.
