	Young local artist Jason Karlson has organised a brand new n event to give local live artistes a chance to perform in public. The first of his Sunday evening 'open mic' type gatherings will be 14th December. I asked Jason about the event and he said, Basically the gig is to try and promote more new music and creativity in Hull by giving people a stage on which to present thier material for free. 	The Ferens Art Gallery is delighted to host a new exhibition Heavier Than Air, by Glasgow artist Tom McKendrick. Heavier Than Air is a dramatic installation piece that mixes kinetic sculpture, painting, light and sound to strong atmospheric effect.
