The Sidewinder Bites Back at Asylum, Hull University - Tuesday 23rd March By Lee Cassanell

I must confess folks, that this will be last article for thisisull. Two weeks ago, in a seedy hideaway some were in the back streets of Hull, your humble narrator became a Millionaire. I was in a pub, minding my own business drinking Singapore slings with mescaline Chasers, when a huge Gorilla carrying Beer and Bananas whispered in my ear that if I could name more Clint Eastwood film than a short pig-tailed student, he would shower me with monkey juice and riches.

Now the only money I make these days is selling crack cocaine to school kids and mugging pensioners, so as you can imagine this offer appealed to me. But as tempted as I was by that prospect, I decided that while I was here I may as well win the million, and anyway brainwashing students is sooo 2003.

The Silver Fox read the Questions while the Gorilla threw fruit at the King Rat and I answered every single one of them like an exam cheat, grabbed the cash, knocked back my beer, and disappeared into the night one million Turkish Lira the richer. Hard to believe I know, but it really did happen no word of a lie. Well, everything except the Singapore slings and Mescaline chasers, it was Tequila Sunrises and stupidly pure heroin to be honest!

Anyway, enough of all that nonsense, let's get to the matter at hand. The mighty Sidewinder will be cooking up their own special recipe of rock at the Hull Uni Asylum Club on Tuesday March 23rd

For those of you not in the know, check out my article on them somewhere in the dark depths of the thisisull vaults. On the other hand if you can't be bothered to do that, I'll tell you here and now that these lads are one of the best outfits on the current Hull scene, and I reckon the bigger the crowd they have the better they will play.

Now I realise that you may have something more pressing on that evening such as watching Coronation Street or downloading Swedish teens 3,but how's about for a change you call some friends, put your shoes, and go to The Asylum club for a night of luscious Live Music in creative company. They are truly worth the trip so I encourage you to see them now before they blow Hull for good and move to Scunthorpe.

Tickets are £4, and before you cheap mothers out there say £4? That's an astronomical figure. I could spend that money on a San Tropez tan or a knee trembler! I'm here to tell you that £4, is in the words of DH Lawrence, Bugger all! Especially when it's 3 Million GBP to go see Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall, and ever since he's stopped drinking he's about as Rock and Roll as a lovingly clubbed seal! Go on! Treat yourself! I'll buy you a pint..
