Coming Up Events
Special Events - The Renegade Writers at the King Billy, Cottingham 25th April 2004

Be prepared for a special treat this weekend...yes, the Renegade Writers are back in town. Or rather, in Cottingham - at the King Billy pub.

Come along this Sunday to see their unique mix of anarchy, verse and music. From the rants of Rich Mills to the hard-hitting tales from notorious Shelley Dee..they promise you a night to remember.
The Renegades will be accompanied of course by the ubiquitous Cracktown. They're gearing up for the release of their second album, due out in May. Watch their space..

Ten Men are a brilliant up and coming twosome, playing both lively and melancholic tunes that stick in your mind like a Drumstick lolly..whether you like it or not.

And of course Pete Coulam, another great local singer and songwriter.
The Renegades are also gearing up - for their contribution to this year's Literature Festival in June. They are on the lookout for new members - so go along if you're a budding writer, and see if you have what it takes to be a Renegade..and talk to them- they don't bite (ignore the rumours).

Entry is free so poverty is no excuse..be there or be somewhere else on a boring Sunday night.

Music Reviews - Salako and Misshapen Lodge at the McCarthy Bar, Hull Student Union 1st March By Starpaw
More often than not, I turn up to see a band and before the headliners even play a single note I'm happy to just get off and go home. I saw Athlete at the Adelphi last year and Fonda 500 played first. After Fonda, Athlete sounded like the musical equivalent of having a nice cup of rosy lea with your grandma on a Sunday morning. Music Reviews - Uberdruck at Substance - Welly Club - Friday 13th February 04 By Mike Mawe
Firstly I must say what an amazing atmosphere was created by the 350+ strong crowd at the Welly club that night.
