Red Gallery - Photograph Exhibition by Norma-Louise Thallon

Opening: Friday 5th November, 7 - 9pm Exhibition: 10th November to 3rd December - Wednesday to Saturday 12pm - 4pm Product Irregularities Are a Guarantee of Their Handmade Nature

This photographic installation brings together hundreds of polythene bags containing all the photographic prints Norma has made over the last 5 years, including previously exhibited work as well as momentous failures that never made it out of her studio. A whirly gig will be installed in the centre of the gallery, with further washing lines stretching between the gallery walls, displaying her images of the past. Norma works in both colour and black and white and uses a great deal of traditional and alternative processes such as pinhole photography, cyanotype and salt printing.

Her work is involved with the traditional genres of portraiture and self-portraiture, as well as land, sea and cityscapes. Norma is interested in vision and perception and her work often relates to the discovery and development of photographic techniques. Norma has a bachelor of fine art and a master of philosophy, both from Glasgow School of Art and has exhibited her work internationally.
