Thursday 4th November - Reclaim the Night Meeting

Reclaim the Night is usually a campaign/event about violence against women and children that have been happening around the world since the 1970's. Often these are women-only events, but they can also be open events with women-only spaces, providing a safe environment where women feel empowered by an atmosphere of female solidarity.

A Reclaim the Night march is about raising awareness of issues such as the right to be safe on the streets at night, and to highlight local safety concerns such as poor lighting, lack of CCTV cameras, high crime no-go areas, etc...

The next actual march will be on Wednesday 10th November at 6.30pm, meeting outside Britannia House, is to be a great event! The interest from groups from across the city has been very good, and I hope that everyone who said they'll turn-up, actually will. Supporting what will be a brilliant and much needed event in the city.
