Tuesday 21st September - Spark TV at The Piper Club - Turismo, Le Shed, Thief, Tom Jackman

Spark is a new interactive on demand television channel from media and design students of the University of Lincoln (based on George Street, Hull) and the BBC. The channel is accessible through a Kingston Communications KIT digital box, and all programmes will be accessible through our own website once they are completed. This is the first time a corporation such as the BBC has given students the opportunity to create and develop television programmes for a mass audience to view, and therefore is a unique opportunity for us, the students, to learn the skills required in the real world and to get our creations seen on a worldwide scale.

Music:Mix is one of these creations. A team of students have developed a music television programme, for viewers to not only gain access to the best of the local bands from their own home, but we're also giving them the opportunity to be part of the live audience which will give them the chance to be on television and also to witness the bands playing live on a monthly basis. The first show is in place, and the bands are all confirmed, and we are now in the position of attracting the audience down for this unique night of music and television in Hull. The launch night will take place at The Piper Club, Newland Avenue, Hull on Tuesday 21st September. The lineup for the night is Turismo (rock), Le Shed (funk/metal), Thief (country/indie rock), Tom Jackman (acoustic).
