Unsigned bands - are you ready to make some noise?
The Noise, 106.8FM for 4 weeks from Sunday 1st August.
|
Hull's new short-term rock radio station has begun the search for the city's best local unsigned bands.
The Noise 106.8FM goes live for 28 days from 1st August, playing a mixture of modern and classic rock, alternative and indie music.
|
|
|
The station will showcase new local talent, and bands from Hull are being encouraged to submit demo CDs for the Battle of the Bands contest.
|
|
A different demo will be played every day on The Noise, with listeners voting for their favourites, who will go head to head in a live final at a Hull nightclub.
If you're in a band and would like to receive the radio airplay and recognition you deserve, send a demo CD, with track listing, a group biography and a contact phone number to:

Sweet n Sour at the Welly Club 22/07/2004 Kasabian, Mad Action, The Landaus By Andy Dykes
|
|
Outside the Welly Club tonight there's thunder, lightning and heavy rain.
The bouncers pass umbrellas down the queue so that the line of punters waiting to get in can
stay as dry as possible.
I'm told that there aren't as many people here as last week.
This is only the second time that the Welly has put on its Sweet n Sour night,
and

Sweet 'n' Sour at the Welly Club 15th July By Michelle Dee
|
|
What a night! Live music from The Applewhites followed by Turismo.
Then dancing into the wee small hours to blinding tunes with a packed dance floor.
Apologies to The Applewhites, I was at the Adelphi whilst you were on.
I am reliably informed by Sweet Assassin, that you rocked.
Turismo looked great on stage

Jesse Malin - York Fibbers 10/07/04 By Nick Quantrill
|
|
I have to admit it, I'm biased. Jesse Malin rules and I won't have a
word said against him.
Like most people I discovered Jesse's music through his association with
Ryan Adams.
After numerous years plodding along with quite frankly,
bad to mediocre punk bands, best mate Ryan produced and provided

Blind Frog Ernie at The Cavern - Saturday 3rd July By Andy Steele
|
|
Blind Frog Ernie, in their current guise, were supposed to make their Cavern
debut some months ago but had to cancel at the last minute due to illness.
Tonight it was clear from the off that they were determined to banish the memory of that
missed opportunity and give the place a proper rocking, East-coast style.

Music Reviews - Dead or American - Band Bio
|
|
In accordance with the prophecy, Dead or American came into being at the stroke
of midnight on the 31st December, 1999 - the result of numerous failed musical ventures.
Following the departure of founder-member Greg Heuer in 2003 after he realised there was
more to life than this rock n roll pish.
Various bassist were drafted in

The Mingers, Bosseye, The 30 Second Dead, Diverse Unit @ Adelphi Tue 13th July 2004 By Dick Spring
|
|
Bloody hell! It's about time! A proper punk band that had me rolling back the years.
I am, of course talking about Diverse Unit, a bunch of snot nosed punks all around the
age of 15 or so, with a passion and something to say.
The songs were there as well, and for a first gig it showed a talent and tightness of a
band
