Wednesday 19th January - Ricky at Fibbers, York
|
Can any unsigned band claim to have had a more successful 2004 than Portsmouth based Ricky?
With the insanely catchy self-released and financed single, That Extra Mile, charting
just outside of the national Top 40, the independently released debut album
The Summer Sun Still Echoes selling in excess of 1,000 copies and receiving the Achievement
of the year award for their endeavours from the local South Coast press, 2004 was a huge success for the band.
|
|
|
2005 promises to be the year that sees Ricky make the leap into the big time. Now signed to a
four-album deal with Beat Crazy Record', January 24th sees the release of new single,
Stop Knocking The Walls Down.
|
Produced at Abbey Road, it promises to be another slice of
glorious, harmony laden pop reminiscent of bands such as The Byrds, The Beach Boys and The Beatles.
To promote the release of Stop Knocking The Wall's Down, the band embark upon a national tour during the month of January.

Band Interviews - Sweet n Sour at the Welly Club 22/07/2004 Mad Action Interview By Andy Dykes
|
|
After the show I go backstage. Admittedly it's partly to use the toilet, but also to catch up
with the bands, particularly Mad Action, with whom an interview has been arranged.
The lead singer and guitarist/backing-vocalist from Kasabian are immediately welcoming,
allowing me to use their toilet without fear of violence or harassment.
