Asylum - Hull University Union 9th - 22nd February

Monday 9th February - 8.30 till 11. ROCKIT - Asylum's regular Monday night, bringing the finest unsigned/just signed bands from around the country paired with Hulls finest. This event takes place in the Johnny Mac venue. This evening Rockit presents:

Lycasleep -A Sheffield band whose music has been described as big, swirling, psychedelic loops of guitar appear for the second time this year at the Uni. They've had rave reviews and are not to be missed. Ernest - A Hull band with a funky, melodic indie style. They've cultivated a good local following and are likely to go on to much bigger things very soon... Tickets £2 and pints just £1 Friday 13th February Full Metal Jacket returns in all its grusome glory featuring a rescheduled Plan A performance, along with residents Wayne Pipe, Rip Chord and Max Doubt. Monday 16th February Riley, based in the West Midlands, is one of the featured and favourite bands of www.thisisUll.com. See reviews of the band and their 'Sit Up' EP, due for release on the day of this gig HERE. During the evening the Free Riley Draw will take place - winning entries drawn by the band. The Landau's, a young local band who, despite forming less than a year ago have quickly built up a strong following and are definitely worth catching now. Tickets £2. Carling and Smiths £1 a pint. Monday 23rd February Rockit. It does what it says on the tin. Malibu Stacey finally (rescheduled from January) return to Rockit for the second time this year. Featuring Leigh from Terrorvision and Kes from Leafeater.

Loud rock played through big amps and a banner attached to the ceiling with three tonnes of padlocks cos someone nicked it last time they were here! 59 Violets, Hulls Monday night favourites and also rock muchly.
