Saturday 19th November - The Young Knives and The Rumble Strips at Yo-Yo at The Welly 10pm

Here at Yo-Yo we continue our crusade to bring the newest and coolest bands to our club night every Saturday night at The Welly Club in Hull. The list so far includes The Cribs, The Rakes, The Babyshambles, The Paddingtons, Littl'ans, and The Five O'clock Heroes to name a few. Our gig on the 19th of November is no exception. Band of the moment The Young Knives are currently number five in the NME Indie Top Ten with their new single The Decision which is released on 28th November. The band is described by the music press as frenzied art - punk and without a doubt the coolest band to come out of Oxford.

Not bad praise considering RadioHead and Supergrass both come from the city! 2005 has been a great year for The Young Knives - they released their debut EP Junky Music Make My Heart Beat Faster to critical acclaim, appeared at V Festival and on Channel 4 and embarked on the Club NME tour across the UK. As an extra treat, support on the night comes from The Rumble Strips who have also been splattered across the pages of the NME recently. The band release their double A-side single No Soul / Motorcycle on Transgressive in December 2005. Doors open 10pm - 3am, Tickets £6.50 on the door.
