Canine Partners Opens Station in Hull

Canine Partners is a national charity with the slogan, Opening doors to Independence, and the basic objective is to train assistance dogs to transform the lives of people with disabilities. The charity is continually expanding. They have many satellite stations down the southern end of England and are currently expanding up the Northern end. One station recently created is situated in Hull and the website attached recently went live.

On the site you can find out what we are about and who does what, as well as find out more information on the charities aims etc. Pay the web site a visit; we welcome everyone who has an interest in charity fund raising, as well as a general interest in puppies and dogs. There is also a forum where people can discuss almost anything to do with puppies and dogs.

There are many ways one can help out. Apply to become a Puppy Parent. Help organize fund raising events etc. In our efforts to raise awareness of the charity and to raise funds we are having an 80`s night on 23rd June, at the Percivals Function Suite, Mayfair Hotel, Beverley Rd at 7.30pm till late. Ticket price is £10 and includes hot and cold food and free entry into a raffle on the night.

Licensed bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages so come down and boogie to a decades worth of the best in 80s music.

There are a few things one must have available and provide. Those basic things are: 1) One person should be at home most of the day. 2) Have a secure dog friendly garden or yard. 3) Have the stamina to manage an active young puppy. 4) Attend weekly puppy classes. 5) Follow Canine Partners training methods. 6) Be able to wave the puppy goodbye when your good work is finished. 7) Enjoy the fun of classes and outings.

I am a Puppy Parent as well as being on the Hull committee. Being a Puppy parent is a rewarding experience in itself. There are guidelines on how one trains a Canine Partners puppy which will be shown to you by our trainers at weekly training sessions held in Lelley.

If you can manage all the above then why not submit your details to us. We will arrange a visit and from there a decision will be made as to whether or not we consider your environment, you and your family members are suitable for a puppy. This sounds harsh but one must realize our prime concern at all stages is the puppy. So, things must be right for the puppy before we can permit a person or family to join our puppy parent group.
