The Night Time Visitor
By Graham Lee
|
During the first few weeks of my professional work in mediumship I was not one hundred
percent convinced that I was actually contacting spirit.
I had come to mediumship with a large dose of scepticism which often meant I would be
the first to offer an entirely rational explanation for events which others saw as paranormal.
On many occasions however this led me to doubt my own capability.
I often wondered whether the information I was giving came from spirit, or if
I was simply spouting generalised nonsense that could, in theory, be applied
to any person at any given time.
|
|
|
I have memories, even from childhood, of having an awareness of another realm.
I remember quite clearly speaking to spirits as a child in much the same way as I
would speak to you today.
|
|
Yet even these memories did not stop me doubting myself and to be honest, I still
get the odd moment of doubt today.
Usually I am reminded by spirit that I am indeed a medium, and the most memorable
of these reminders happened in October of 2003.
I had gone to bed early that night, usually I am up until around one in the morning
but on this occasion there was nothing much on television and I had played all my
computer games a hundred times each.
|
I decided to call it a night and get some sleep, my wife had been in bed an hour or
so already and I drifted off to sleep quite swiftly.
Generally speaking, not counting those times when the kids wake up, I get a full night's sleep.
However on this occasion I was woken up at about two in the morning.
I was laid on my back, so when I woke up I was looking up at the ceiling.
To my left, in the dark room, I saw what I thought was my wife Ellen sitting up
in bed looking down at me.
|
|
|
The figure was absolutely solid and as I looked in to the figure's eyes I just knew
that they belonged to a very real entity.
I was however still under the impression that it was Ellen.
I was about to say Is everything okay? when the figure smiled knowingly and drifted
away towards the ceiling before evaporating in front of my very eyes!
No words were exchanged and no messages given. I had simply been reminded
that spirit entities are indeed real, and that I am entirely capable of seeing them.
|
|
At this stage in my mediumship it was quite shocking for me to see a full
apparition and so the next few mornings I made sure not to open my eyes too
quickly and I also made sure that I was looking in to my pillow as I did so,
just to give any nearby spirits a chance to make themselves scarce before
I clapped eyes on them!
|
But it just goes to show that our experiences of the spirit world can be very subtle or, as in this case, alarmingly vivid and I am thankful for all my experiences of spirit, even the scary ones, because those experiences let me know that there is another realm and give me the strength to continue in my work in times of doubt.
We can all take something from this tale and apply it to our own lives, in times of trouble just take the time to think about these higher realms and inspiration might just come your way.
