Hull's Beauty
By DJ Chris Plant

Shelagh Morrod giving her patient some laser treatment I decided to take a look at Hull's brand new Beauty Clinic and Hair Salon, BeautyMed and A Cut Above (having heard very good things about them both). I needed the makeover too.

BeautyMed is a new clinic situated at Suite 2, 173 Ferensway, Hull (Opposite the railway station).

Visit BeautyMed and you'll come away feeling refreshed, relaxed and totally revitalised.
The clinic specialises in a range of top quality treatments, including intense pulse light hair removal by Epilight and revolutionary Nlite-V, which treats acne, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and can be used on vascular lesions, such as spider veins.
Patients must wear protective eyeshields during treatment Nlite -V is great news for acne sufferers!

The laser light kills and reduces the bacteria that causes the infection, and stimulates the natural repair mechanism of the skin. It can also treat the scars which acne causes.

Treatments are recommended every three months to maintain your skin's new healthy appearance.
Microderm Abrasion is another popular choice. Used in conjunction with N-lite, or on it's own, this system of exfoliating with crystals uses tiny particles to exfoliate dead skin before they are vacuumed away, leaving your skin feeling smoother, cleaner and softer. The dead skin cells are removed and the pores refined.

Follow a Microderm Abrasion with a collagen mask, which will hydrate and nourish your skin, leaving it in tip-top condition, and you'll feel on top of the world.
A Cut Above
Stylist Sarah adds her professional opinion The work of BeautyMed is supported by A Cut Above hairdressing, a brand new hair salon which shares the premises.

A Cut Above offers a full range of hair services, but specialises in human hair extensions, which are ideal for people suffering from alopecia and thinning hair and thermal straightening for frizzy curly hair.

Staff members are about to undertake training in medical extensions, for people who have lost their hair through illness.
These will be available by individual consultation. For details of any of these services, or the full range of hair and beauty treatments available at BeautyMed and A Cut Above, call (01482) 223393.

A Cut Above has a vast selection of GHD products (as used on Channel 4's The Salon) and the staff are so dedicated in selecting the correct products for their clientele. These products are used in the salon as well as sold to the clients,
GHD products

I had a wonderful day at BeautyMed and A Cut Above. I now feel refreshed and ready to take on the world.

I highly recommend BeautyMed and A Cut Above. Here are the reasons why :-

The Clinic and Salon are to clinical standards. The staff are very friendly and have a wide range of knowledge/experience.
The products/machines they use are top of the range.

What more can I say ..... it's fantastic!

The salon also uses Epilight IPL hair removal, permanent hair reduction and all other beauty treatments are available

I just got a call from my best friend that has shocked me deeply. So many things flood the mind; first, the disbelief; then the regret of never actually writing to him; of never getting round to sending that CD of some obscure band that you felt sure he'd love. Then guilt follows, knowing that you haven't listened to his rich voice Read more...

My mate from work rings me up and asks me if I want to go out, so I say, Fuck it, why not? I hate going round town, but I've had more nights out over the last few weeks than I've had in ages. I can feel myself de-evolving into something less, yet something more. Somebody stop me. Read more...
