Art Gallery By Hull Artist Darren Rogers
|
This is a series of photographs we'd like to present by Darren Rogers, an artist from Hull, East Yorkshire, England.
Darren has not only proven himself to be an incredible photographer - providing the most
brilliant galleries of live band performances for thisisUll.com -
he's also a most captivating artist.
We have to admit that you can't see his work at it's very best within this gallery - quality is unfortunately the victim of efforts to save space - but you will certainly get and idea, and hopefully a taste for his work by browsing a little.

Mo says: I introduced myself to Darren at The Jaz Bar, where he was taking photos of
The Applewhites some months ago. I'd never seen anyone taking photographs as intensely as he was doing that night. I felt almost intimidated! After a year of working my ass off to get the best pictures I could, I was confronted with the best. This man was astonishing. I had to meet him. I did. And that's all the better for thisisull.com because he's given us some of the best music pictures you'll see anywhere on the planet. That's how good he is!
You've seen the photos, now take a look at the other side of the artist. Thanks, Darren.

Music Reviews - Blind Frog Ernie, Blue Sand the Applewhites and Displacements at Piper November23rd By Michelle Dee Photos by Darren Rogers
|
|
The Piper club on Newland Avenue has, according to many people, always had something of a volatile reputation.
On more than one occasion I have heard reports from people that you always get fights and
fracas at the venue.
Indeed the last time I went to the Piper there was a very

Once again, Sweet and Sour at The Welly have provided the people of Britain's
critically acclaimed crappest town with another great line up including one of

Music Reviews - The Zutons and Little Flames at Asylum - Monday 18th October By Andy Dykes, Photos by Darren Rogers
|
|
The sky is black and clear tonight. This means that for the first time in a while, the stars are being given
the chance to shine on Hull. This also means that it's pretty bitter outside.
Inside Asylum tonight, it doesn't seem to be any warmer.
Maybe that's why so many people are huddled together so closely? Or maybe

Music Reviews - The 22-20s, Cathy Davey and Willy Mason - Thursday 14th October - Sweet n Sour at The Welly By Andy Dykes, Photos by Darren Rogers
|
|
Outside The Welly Club tonight, people huddle together or dance absent-mindedly on the spot.
It's dark and it's cold.
But there's good reason to be braving the elements tonight.
The buzz surrounding The 22-20s is increasing so steadily, it's becoming more like a roar.
And the interest isn't lost on the good people of Hull who flock
